Legal empowerment of women in Moroccan legislation
Abstract
Morocco has recently seen a legislative dynamism through the promulgation of several legal texts that can be considered as a legal emancipation of women, in order to improve their status within Moroccan society, of which they are considered the foundation and core.
This development of human rights in the field of protecting women and improving their status has encompassed several branches of law and has intervened in favour of women on several occasions and in different areas, both at international and national level.
This study aims to highlight the legal protection of Moroccan women in Moroccan law, starting with the Constitution, the Criminal Code, the Family Code and the Labour Code. The status of women reflects the policies pursued by the State in the field of social development and the realisation of human rights.
